A Tigard-based nonprofit will host a free “health fair” in Washington County next Saturday, Aug. 12.

Neighborhood Health Center organizes the annual Community Health Fair, which will be held in the parking lot behind the Washington County Public Administration building at 155 N. First St. in Hillsboro from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The venue is right across West Main Street from the Hatfield Government Center MAX station. Public parking, both on-street and covered, is also available nearby.

“Each year, NHC serves nearly 21,000 patients at our nine clinics across the Portland metro area — nearly 60% of whom live 200% below the federal poverty level. This event, held each year in celebration of National Health Center Week, is just one way we live out our mission — to build healthy communities, one neighbor at a time — beyond the walls of our clinics,” explained Jeri Weeks, NHC’s chief executive officer, in a statement.

Weeks added, “We are delighted to have more than 25 vendors and community partners joining us to offer a wide range of services at this year’s event and to raise awareness of the mission and achievements of America’s community health centers.”

This free public event is sponsored by CareOregon, TriMet, Kaiser Permanente, The Standard Insurance, Walmart and Dave’s Killer Bread.

Attendees can receive free health and dental screenings, access community resources, get help with Oregon Health Plan (OHP) enrollment, and more.

Additionally, there will be a stamp card to encourage attendees to visit each booth. Those who do so and fill out their stamp cards are eligible for a free box of fresh produce from Mudbone Grown and a loaf from Dave’s Killer Bread.

There is no charge to attend the health fair. Attendees are welcome from across the Portland metro area.
