PORTLAND, OR – Today, Justice Kennedy announced his retirement from the Supreme Court. With President Trump set to nominate the next Supreme Court justice as soon as this fall, the constitutionally guaranteed right to access legal abortion is in dire, immediate danger.

Trump has long promised to only nominate justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade and take us back to the days of illegal, unsafe abortion. We are relying on the leadership of Oregon Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden now more than ever before to stand up to the Trump-Pence administration’s dangerous anti-abortion agenda.”
In 2017, as a member of the Pro-Choice Coalition of Oregon, NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon worked to pass the Reproductive Health Equity Act of 2017, which codified the legal right to abortion in Oregon.
