Mason E. Nolan Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington Awards $18,000 Gift to the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington

August 8, 2017

VANCOUVER, Wash., Aug. 8, 2017 - The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington has received an $18,000 grant from the Mason E. Nolan Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington. The gift will help fund medical supplies and operations for the clinic's urgent care services.

The Free Clinic serves low-income uninsured and underinsured residents of Clark County. Volunteer providers diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries and infections five days a week. The clinic provides medicine, medical equipment, health screenings and laboratory tests for nearly 6,800 patients each year.

"We greatly appreciate this gift," says Free Clinic Executive Director Barbe West. "Without our urgent care services, many Free Clinic patients would end up in a hospital emergency room when their conditions become acute and where services are far more expensive."

About the Free Clinic:
