The veterinary diagnostic lab at Oregon State University reached out to the Oregon Health Authority for help. The sophisticated lab wanted to use its state-of-the-art facility to boost testing for COVID-19, something that officials acknowledge is needed.

The Oregon Health Authority didn’t help. Neither did Gov. Kate Brown. But the lab found a way.
