Legacy giveaways may be part of Amazon recall

Public is asked to dispose of solar glasses
August 18, 2017

Portland, Ore. (Aug. 17, 2017). By now, many people are aware of the recall of solar glasses issued by Amazon. Unfortunately, Legacy Health has learned that some of the recalled glasses may have been given out to the public at several Legacy Health events. Anyone who received solar glasses during a public event at any Legacy location should throw those glasses away and obtain new glasses.

There are two kinds of solar glasses given away by Legacy Health at clinic locations that ARE SAFE to use. Solar glasses given away at any of the Legacy Devers Eye Institute clinics over the past month meet ISO standards and are safe to use. Solar glasses given away at any of the Legacy/GoHealth Urgent Care clinics over the past month meet ISO standards and are safe to use.

Only glasses given out at public events may be unsafe. If someone is unsure of where they received their glasses, they are encouraged to dispose of them and get new glasses that meet safety standards.
