October 16, 2013
October 16, 2013 — Skamania Lodge, in the Columbia River Gorge, is the setting for the 9th Annual Lean Leadership Retreat, Oct. 21-23, hosted by Lean Healthcare West, a CareOregon company. "Lean" is a method of improving workplace processes while enhancing value to end users. A manufacturing philosophy initially and most famously applied by the automobile manufacturers in Japan, Lean is increasingly applied to non-manufacturing sectors including health care. Lean Healthcare West has clients in 38 states, and is well known in Oregon. Founder Cindy Jimmerson and her team at Lean Healthcare West have a national reputation for their work assisting hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities and physician practices to implement Lean methodology. The Annual Lean Leadership Retreat is an opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business, and to share experiences with other professionals. This is the first Lean Leadership Retreat since Lean Healthcare West became a part of CareOregon. Since 2006, Lean practices have been at the core of CareOregon’s educational programs for process improvement for frontline health care staff, in medical offices and hospitals, as well as its own internal administrative team. The schedule (see topics and speakers)—Formal presentations each day will conclude early enough to allow the networking that’s a key of the conference.
