Komen Breast Cancer Issues Conference: Experts Present Topics for Breast Cancer Survivors and Those at Risk

          
Susan G. Komen Oregon and SW Washington presents the 16th annual Breast Cancer Issues Conference on Saturday March 1st at the Doubletree Portland Hotel. Distinguished experts, including keynote speaker, Lisa Coussens, PhD, will cover all aspects of current breast cancer research and treatment. 
 
Dr. Coussens is the recipient of a prestigious Komen Promise Grant, dedicated to the rapid translation of scientific discoveries into new or enhanced treatments with the highest potential to reduce breast cancer incidence or mortality. 
 
Her research is being conducted in Portland at OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute. Her topic is “Inflammation and Breast Cancer:  Good Cells Behaving Badly” The conference is sponsored by Moda Health, OHSU Knight Cancer Institute and Kaiser Permanente NW.
