Kaiser Permanente Clinicians to Treat Uninsured at Vancouver Free Clinic

February 22, 2013

February 22, 2013 — To help meet the significant need for medical care among the uninsured and underinsured in Clark County, a group of 13 physicians, opticians, dentists, and other clinicians will treat patients Feb. 26, in partnership with the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington.

WHAT: KP Night Out — urgent care extended clinic hours, staffed by 13 Kaiser Permanente clinician volunteers
WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 26, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
WHERE: Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, 4100 Plomondon St., Vancouver

Local individuals and families will receive primary care examinations (with appropriate treatment, if possible), as well as optical, dental, podiatry, and pharmacy services.

The first two KP Night Out events highlighted a large medically underserved population. At the last event, in December 2012, clinicians served 29 medical patients and five dental patients. Dozens of patients lined up 45 minutes before the first patients could be seen.

KP clinicians and leaders from the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington will be available for interviews during the Feb. 26 event.
