September 17, 2013 -- Get your school year off to a great start! Come to the 20th annual SBHC conference to learn, network, inspire and be inspired. 

 

Mark your calendar for Friday, October 11th, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Century High School in Hillsboro, OR.  Map and Directions.

 

 

This Year's Conference is Shaping Up to be Our Best Ever...

 

We'll start the day with two engaging keynote speakers:

  • Dana Hargunani, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at OHSU and Child Health Director at Oregon Health Authority, who will share her vision for children's health in Oregon; and
  • Skye Garrett, student adviser, who will talk about the power of youth advocates. 

Learning sessions will include:

  • Service Delivery/Best Practices:
    • Patient-centered and solution-focused care
    • Improving the health of LGBTQI youth
    • Microscopy training for providers
    • Using social media to promote health
  • Partnerships:
    • Creating thriving school environments
    • What SBHCs can learn from Oregon health philanthropies
    • Oral health and mental health integration at SBHCs
  • Policy/Advocacy:
    • What Cover Oregon and health reform mean for SBHCs
    • How the Affordable Care Act will impact youth
    • Making the case for school health with Return on Investment measures.
