April 17, 2015

Portland, Ore. (April 16, 2015) - The Oregon Medical Association today announced that its CEO and executive vice president Jo Bryson, will leave the Association on Friday, April 17.

After 36 years in organized medicine, 23 years with the Montana Medical Association and 13 years of service to the OMA, Bryson decided to leave her position to spend more time with her family. During her tenure, Bryson helped lead a five-year effort to streamline the members’ leadership and create a more transparent governance structure to increase member involvement. Bryson also led the efforts to plan, upgrade and construct the Association’s new building space. She also represented the OMA on several national medical organizations.

“We want to express our appreciation and gratitude to Jo Bryson for her 13 years of service,  and 11 as CEO,” said Dr. Sylvia Emory, president of the OMA and a family physician in Eugene, Oregon. “Her leadership and commitment will be missed.”

Bryan Boehringer will serve as the interim CEO as the executive committee of the OMA board of trustees develops a transition plan and begins the search process for a new CEO. Boehringer has been working for  the OMA since 2009 and most recently served in the role of  senior vice president of government relations and health policy.
