MEDFORD, Ore. — Jackson Care Connect, one of the Coordinated Care Organizations managing Medicaid care in Jackson County, is at the top of statewide member satisfaction rankings for 2016, according to The Lund Report’s analysis of Oregon Health Authority surveys.
“Our mission drives us to provide the best possible care for our members, and it is satisfying to receive this affirmation,” said Jennifer Lind, Jackson Care Connect’s CEO.
The analysis and ranking was made by The Lund Report, an industry newsletter, based on the 2016 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) surveys of member satisfaction.
Medicaid members were asked to rank the quality of their health care overall on a scale from zero to 10. Some 72 percent of Jackson Care Connect’s members gave the plan a top score of eight, nine or 10.
Other No. 1 ranked scores for Jackson Care Connect in the report and survey include:
Satisfaction with personal doctor, 84 percent gave top scores, No. 1 in the state.
Best access overall, 87 percent gave top scores, No. 1 in the state (tied with Primary Health of Josephine County)
The Lund Report compared all ratings for all Coordinated Care Organizations statewide and listed Jackson Care Connect as the best Medicaid plan in Oregon based on member responses.
The Oregon Health Authority conducted the surveys for each of the 16 Coordinated Care Organizations in the state. These organizations were established by landmark legislation in 2012 to manage the physical, mental and oral health of Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) members.
“We must thank our providers and community partners that make up our health care team,” said Lind. “Being ranked best in the state is a reflection of everything they do for our members.”
Other plans receiving second and third place rankings of overall quality include PacificSource Gorge and Willamette Valley Community Health, tied at 71 percent; and Health Share of Oregon at 70 percent. Jackson Care Connect ranked lower on the list for access to specialists: 72 percent and No. 8 in the state.
“We’re happy to do as well as we have, but we will to continue to improve,” Lind said. “Together with partners throughout the community, including health care providers and community service organizations, we will work toward addressing the health care needs of Jackson County, and toward making our community a healthy place to live.”
