Portland, Ore. – April 21, 2015 – Healthcare Communicators of Oregon (HCO) has announced the details of its upcoming spring conference, which will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel in Salem, Oregon.

This year’s conference will feature workshops about crisis communications with Dan Keeney, DPK Public Relations; internal/employee communications with Cherri Roden, The Standard; and social media with Maegan Vidal, Legacy Health. The featured speaker is Kristina Cisnero from Hootsuite Media Inc., who will present on how to use social media networks to improve internal communications for business. Sponsors include Riley Research Associates, Coffey Communications and Gard.

“We’re excited to connect our attendees with the knowledge HCO’s special guests will bring to the conference. It’s a critical time for the future of health care in Oregon, and HCO is passionate about creating opportunities for health care professionals to learn and exchange ideas,” said Christina Vander Werf, president of HCO’s board of directors.

Formed in 1985, HCO is the Pacific Northwest’s only marketing and communications organization that focuses solely on the health care industry. HCO is a resource for industry professionals to learn from national and regional experts, share case studies and network with peers.

“Social and digital media are creating new ways for health organizations to communicate with their patients. We look forward to welcoming our guests, and connecting with our members from communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington,” Vander Werf added.
