The Health Law: Rising Costs, Subsidies And Its Future Under The Next President

October 28, 2016

As customers prepare for the federal health law’s fourth open enrollment to open next week, the Affordable Care Act faces a big test with dramatic increases in policy premiums and fewer options as some insurers are pulling out of the marketplace. The news that premiums on the federal exchange will rise an average of 25 percent in 2017 has fueled debate on the campaign trail.

On The Diane Rehm Show, a nationally syndicated public radio show, USA Today’s Susan Page talked about enrollment concerns and the future of the health law with KHN’s Julie Rovner, Ron Pollack of the advocacy group Families USA, Avik Roy of the Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity and Joel Ario of the consulting firm Manatt Health Solutions.
