HCAO Announces Beyond Obamacare – A Meeting of Citizens Regarding Single Payer Healthcare in Oregon

St. Andrew Church, 806 NE Alberta St. Portland 97211 – 7 PM, April 9th, 2013: Join us to hear Rep Dembrow discuss HB 2922 in detail and take your questions about universal, single payer health insurance in Oregon. Representative Dembrow D-Portland, District 45, is sponsor of HB 2922, to establish a health care plan for all Oregonians, which will be operated by the Oregon Health Authority, according to policies established by the Affordable Health Care for All Oregon Board. Join us to learn how the bill will control health care costs, and provide access to health care for all Oregonians.   The program includes a short film detailing Vermont’s successful efforts to establish single payer. You will also hear from city residents who have first-hand experience with our failing medical insurance industry, to understand the current crisis and how it affects individuals, small businesses, and all of us who live and work in Oregon.   This evening is brought to you by your neighbors The District 45 - NE Portland Action Group, and co-sponsored by Health Care for All Oregon, and Portland Jobs with Justice. Beginning at 7 PM, the doors will open at 6:45. Materials for further action will be provided, including tools to make your voice heard to your Oregon state Representatives and Senators.
