Hazelden and Healthworks Northwest Combine Forces; Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to Take Place March 15

March 6, 2013 -- Hazelden, the national nonprofit addiction treatment provider, is set to open expanded services after joining forces with HealthWorks Northwest, a multidisciplinary medical practice in Beaverton.

There will be an Open House and ribbon cutting event at the new Hazelden Beaverton facility on March 15 from 3-6 p.m. The facility is located at 1500 NW Bethany Blvd., Suite 240 in Beaverton.

The President and CEO of Hazelden in Minnesota, Mark Mishek, will be speaking along with Dr. Andy Mendenhall and Dr. Paul Conti of Hazelden in Beaverton.

"Together, we are expanding the reach of our services, broadening our knowledge of evidence-based best practices, especially in addressing the national epidemic of opioid addiction, and bringing hope, health and healing to more people."

"We are extremely excited about this combination and know there will be great benefit to patients of both organizations and to the community as a whole," said Drs. Paul Conti and Andy Mendenhall, founding partners of HealthWorks Northwest and the newest members of the Hazelden team.

HealthWorks Northwest provides outpatient addiction treatment, Medication Assisted Treatment and Relapse Prevention, pain management and psychiatric care for co-occurring conditions.  Hazelden Beaverton will offer medically supervised outpatient opioid and alcohol detoxification, intensive outpatient services, family services and expanded recovery management services. 

The newest members of Hazelden’s team are psychiatric and addiction treatment specialists.  Dr. Conti works with patients with complex co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency conditions, and provides neuropsychiatric assessments and psychotherapy. He is a graduate of Stanford Medical School, and completed his residency at Stanford and Harvard. He served as Chief Resident in Psychiatry at Harvard. Dr. Conti moved to Oregon in 2007 and was named one of the state's Top Psychiatrists in 2008.

Dr. Mendenhall is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine and has pursued advanced training in spinal diagnostics and pain management. He is a graduate of Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Mendenhall moved to Newberg in 2004 and began work as a family medicine physician before focusing on addiction treatment.

Hazelden also operates a residential addiction treatment center in Springbrook, Oregon,with a specialty track in health care professionals, trauma and addiction, and is now offering a full continuum of outpatient services in the Portland market.
