July 3, 2013— Governor Kitzhaber today released the following statement as the Oregon Senate passed House Bill 5030, setting the budget for the Oregon Health Authority for the 2013-2015 biennium.
“Oregon is leading the nation on building a health care system that improves the quality of care while controlling costs. This budget caps growth on per capita health care spending, making the Oregon Health Plan more affordable for taxpayers, more sustainable into the future, and more focused on patient needs. This is a model that I believe can be used by both the public and private sector to create a better health system for everyone.”
