HERMISTON, OR – With the new Good Shepherd Nancy Rudd-McCoy Women’s Center poised to open in late January, Good Shepherd Medical Group administration has applied more emphasis on building a comprehensive group of providers. Answering that call to meet the growing need for women’s services in the communities served by the women’s center is Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Angie Hays.
Coming to the Women’s Center is a homecoming for Mrs. Hays, “I’ve had the privilege of spending 22 years in this community. Prior to my career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse at Good Shepherd in the operating room as a post-anesthesia care unit nurse. I also spent time in our emergency room.” Both of which have seen extensive renovations in the past decade that rival any in the region and state.
At the Women’s Center, Mrs. Hays primary focus will be on women’s health caring for their unique needs. “I will be able to care for women of all ages from menstruation to menopause,” says Mrs. Hays, who explains, “My primary focus will be providing physical exams, providing contraception options – nexplanon and IUD, caring for common and chronic urinary tract infections, vaginal infections, abnormal bleeding, and other physical conditions women may be experiencing – even hypertension and thyroid conditions. Really, I’ll be caring for all aspects of preventative health for women.”
“Our team of practitioners is excited that Angie is joining our practice,” says, Dr. Garry Trupp, Women’s Center medical director. “Angie’s contribution is just one of many additional features we plan on making available to our community – including midwifery – which we plan to add in the near future. Her experience, knowledge, and reputation, is easily seen by her dedicated following. Women love her, and the care she provides. Her contribution will help care for the needs of women in our community for years to come.”
As for what women can expect from her care, Mrs. Hays declares unequivocally, “Compassion, understanding of their unique needs and situation. I enjoy spending time with each patient, getting to know them personally, and I am determined to find the best solution to meet each woman’s needs. If a challenging situation does arise I know I have a great group of physicians that I can consult with. I’m looking forward to working with an amazing team of healthcare providers.”
