Give a Child a Reason to Smile

Oral Health Fair at New Dental Clinic
August 4, 2016

WHAT: Dental-focused health fair with community resources, oral-health education, dental-themed games, free lunch for children, snacks for all ages, give-aways and tours of the Wallace Dental Clinic.

WHO: The Wallace Medical Concern (WMC or Wallace) will host the event at the site of its newly-opened dental clinic in Rockwood, in partnership with Human Solutions. Other health fair exhibitors include SnowCap, and S.M.A.R.T. (Start Making a Reader Today). Participants will be Rockwood-area adults and children of all ages, especially those residing in surrounding public housing, and families served by Human Solutions’ homeless family center.

WHERE: Rosewood Plaza/Wallace Dental Clinic, 18139 NE Couch Street, Portland, OR, 97230. Event site: Outdoor courtyard behind main building (look for balloons and signage).

WHEN: August 9, 2016 - 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Dental clinic tour at 12:00 p.m.

WHY: Dental pain is the number one reason kids stay home from school, and a significant cause of adults missing work. Nationwide, the lack of oral health care is responsible for millions of lost school and work hours. WMC is hosting this event as part of National Community Health Center Week celebrations.
