April 22, 2013-- Freelancers CO-OP of Oregon has received a Certificate of Authority from the Oregon Insurance Division and is now a licensed health care services contractor, able to offer affordable, quality health insurance, both on and off the Cover Oregon health insurance exchange.   Freelancers CO-OP of Oregon, the state's newest health insurance company, will be offering health care coverage to Oregonians under the name "Health Republic Insurance." Dawn Bonder, Executive Director of Health Republic, says the new name reflects the organization's commitment to the health of each individual and the community as a whole. "I truly believe that Oregonians will benefit from the innovative, patient-centered plans that we will be offering later this year."   Additionally, Health Republic has added a number of executive team members. Linda Voelsch will serve as Chief Operating Officer. She has a long background in health plan operations, including many years with the CHP Group and a division of United Health Group. Meredith Johnson is Health Republic's new Chief Financial Officer, returning to Oregon after many years in CFO roles in Southern California. She was previously controller at CareOregon. Amy Keiter will direct the organization's outreach and enrollment efforts. Most recently, she worked at SolarWorld, and prior to that, in the administration of former Governor Ted Kulongoski.
