Free Screening Next Wednesday

March 17, 2017

Housecall Providers will host a free screening of the documentary titledThe Invisible Patients on Wednesday, March 22, at the Hollywood Theatre from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. A short presentation led by Medical Director Dr. Pam Miner will follow the movie and there will also be time for Q/A. Entry to the film is on a first-come, first-served basis. (The theater has 380 seats.)
THE INVISIBLE PATIENTS tells the story of Jessica Macleod, a nurse practitioner, and four patients she cares for in their homes in Evansville, Indiana. Together, they put a human face on some of the most urgent healthcare issues facing our nation, from the living conditions of the elderly poor and the lack of accessible end-of-life care to the soaring costs of hospitalization, and the overprescription of opiates.
The documentary pulls back the curtain on a hidden, vulnerable population whose circumstances ask us to wrestle with not just healthcare policy, but how to mend today’s fraying social fabric.
