Free Clinic of Southwest Washington Receives $4,000 Grant from Columbia Credit Union

December 27, 2017

VANCOUVER, Wash., Dec. 27, 2017 - The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington has received a $4,000 grant from Columbia Credit Union to help fund x-ray services. In the most recent fiscal year, the Free Clinic completed 377 x-rays for low-income, uninsured patients.

Getting an x-ray and receiving needed care often means that patients can stay at or return to work. They can preserve their livelihoods and remain healthy, productive participants in the community. The x-rays are read by community radiologists, who partner with the Free Clinic in providing patient care.

"X-ray images help providers diagnose conditions ranging from arthritis to lung cancer and prescribe appropriate courses of treatment.," says Free Clinic Executive Director Barbe West. "We appreciate Columbia Credit Union's help in bringing this key service to Free Clinic patients."
