Family Promise of Beaverton Opens its Doors to Homeless Families

Beaverton, OR (February 22, 2018) – Family Promise of Beaverton will be celebrating the opening of its new Day Center for homeless families. The Day Center Grand Opening is a chance for community members and civic leaders to grab some refreshments, tour the new facility, and learn more about Family Promise of Beaverton’s mission.

Family Promise of Beaverton’s Day Center Grand Opening will take place on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and also from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sunset Presbyterian -14986 NW Cornell Rd, Portland, OR, 97229. All are welcome to attend.

Child and Family Homelessness:

Child and family homelessness is a growing problem in the Beaverton area. During the 2017 school year, the Beaverton School District reported having 1,522 homeless students1 enrolled, which ranks first in the state among the various different school districts. Additionally, the 2017 Washington County homeless census identified 196 families2 who were experiencing homelessness in a single night during their annual point-in-time count.
