Experts to Discuss The Effects of Affordable Care Act on Local Business.

June 24, 2013

June 24, 2013 – The Tualatin Chamber of Commerce and Doctors Express have teamed up to assemble a panel of healthcare professionals to discuss the Affordable Care Act and its affects on local businesses.    Included in the panel will be Cover Oregon, Affordable Care Strategies LLC., Health Republic Insurance, and Resource Strategies Planning Group.    The panel discussion, which is open to the public, aims to inform attendees of the changes facing health insurance options and requirements that will be instituted with the impending introduction of the Affordable Care act in 2014.    “I feel that it is important for local businesses to hear what the Affordable Care Act will mean to their organization,” said Linda Moholt, Tualatin Chamber of Commerce CEO.     “I know what the Chamber has been paying for insurance over the last few years, and I know that there are a lot of businesses who are still struggling to determine how to provide health insurance.  We felt that it was important to host this panel, which represents a broad range of professionals working to implement the changes around health insurance.”   The panel will comprise a broad range of healthcare industry perspectives; from urgent care provider Doctors Express, to Affordable Care Strategies LLC., a consulting firm dedicated to aiding businesses in becoming compliant with the new policies.    “Much of the public, as well as many small business owners, still know very little about how the Affordable Care Act will impact their industry,” said Doctors Express Center Director, Guru Sankar.   “The goal of the forum is to illuminate the many changes that businesses will be facing with the introduction of these policies in 2014, and help them plan and adapt accordingly.”    The event will coincide with the opening of the third Doctors Express in the Portland area since 2011.   The forum is from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, and will be held at the Tualatin Country Club. To register, please visit the Tualatin Chamber Website at www.TualatinChamber.com or call 503-692-0780 for more information. The cost is $15 and includes breakfast. Registration is required.
