Portland, OR – November 6, 2014 – Housecall Providers announced Dr. Pamela Miner as the new medical director for the nine million dollar, Portland area medical nonprofit, replacing retired founder Dr. Benneth Husted. An expert in the palliative care field, Dr. Miner most recently served as a Palliative Care Consultation Physician with Portland Providence Health and Services before assuming the medical director role November 1, 2014.

“It is with great pride that I join with Housecall Providers staff to work towards the continued goal of offering excellent, home-centered care to our community’s most vulnerable members,” Dr. Miner stated.

Dr. Miner received her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and completed her residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She was a primary care provider for seven years with the VA Medical Center in Boston, MA before accepting a Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship at Harvard University in 2007. A year later, she joined Providence as a palliative and hospice care physician.

As a member of the leadership team, she will help to guide the expansion of Housecall Providers palliative care services, while further integrating its primary care and hospice programs. Dr. Miner will supervise a staff of 20 house call clinicians comprised of doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners and will also be seeing patients too.

“We couldn’t have found a better person to fill the shoes of Dr. Benneth Husted,” remarked Executive Director Terri Hobbs. “Pam has all the qualities we were searching for in a medical director and her
