July 22, 2013 -- Celebrate with us on September 24, 2013 at the Urban League of Portland's annual Equal Opportunity Awards Dinner where we will honor Dr. George J. Brown for his integral contribution to our community.
Dr. George J. Brown, President and CEO of Legacy Health, has nearly 40 years of healthcare experience. He has served as president and CEO of Legacy Health, a non-profit with six hospitals in the Portland area, since August 2008 and previously served as COO of Tacoma, Washington-based MultiCare Health System. Brown is the first CEO that Legacy has ever had who is also a doctor-a gastroenterologist. A 26-year veteran, he was also a brigadier general in the U.S. Army, where he practiced medicine and served as commander of Madigan Army Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
