Director of OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Dr. Brian Druker Is Keynote Speaker At Susan G. Komen Oregon and SW Washington’s Lunch for the Cure Event

Portland, OR - April 26th,  2017 - Komen Oregon announces our annual Lunch for the Cure, Thursday April 27th at the Sentinel Hotel in Portland.  

The Lunch will showcase progress made at Komen Oregon and SW Washington, and highlight the promise of  Komen funded local research taking shape with  Dr. Brian Druker and the premier research institute, Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Institute.   Guests will get an in-depth understanding of challenges with breast cancer as well as the future of breast cancer research at the Institute.

“It is an honor to be partners with OHSU Knight Cancer Institute in the fight against breast cancer,” said Andrew Asato, CEO of Susan G. Komen and SW Washington.   “Our goal is to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in half by 2026 through advancing early detection technology, addressing disparities among people color, and furthering breast cancer research.  Every step we collectively take will make a difference for the communities we serve, one life at a time.”

The Lunch will also feature a silent auction, raffle packages, a panel discussion with leading breast cancer doctors and researchers and a moving story from Cherie Gabbert, a metastatic breast cancer patient.
