March 2, 2015

LEBANON, Oregon – Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest has named Dianna Lacey as assistant vice president of the Oregon campus.

Over the past three years, Lacey has served as an adjunct faculty at COMP-Northwest, lecturing on ethics, patient experience patient safety and physician leadership.

“We’re poised for a great future, and Di is the perfect addition to our executive leadership team,” said Paula M. Crone, DO, Dean of COMP and COMP-Northwest. “Her health care leadership experience and development expertise will allow us to create new, innovative WesternU programs.”

As assistant vice president of the Oregon campus, Lacey will provide executive oversight of key strategic programs and leadership for organizational growth opportunities.

“It’s clear the health care of tomorrow lies in the hands of our future physicians,” Lacey said. “Training medical students to meet new and emerging challenges is critical for the health and wellness of our friends, family, neighbors, and even ourselves. The more I get to know the students and the faculty here at COMP-Northwest, the more passionate I become in helping them succeed, and optimistic I am about the future of health care.”

Lacey began her health care career more than 30 years ago in high-tech diagnostics, and has served in multiple leadership and executive roles.

She spent 29 years working in the PeaceHealth System, most recently in the corporate office in Vancouver, Washington, as director of strategy, innovation and development. Her responsibilities included oversight of strategic initiatives, public affairs, community partnerships, community health needs, and innovation across the health care system.

Lacey moved to Vancouver from Florence, Oregon, where she served as vice president of public affairs and fund development for PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center. Her responsibilities included the medical center’s foundation, public relations, strategy, marketing, and volunteer services.

She earned a degree in Allied Health Sciences from Oregon Institute of Technology in 1985. She received national board certification in radiology and mammography in 1985, and national board certification in diagnostic sonography in 1991. Her accomplishments include guest speaker at the second annual International Patient-Centered Care Conference in San Francisco, California in 2005, and receiving the “Best in Show” Marketing Campaign award at the 2009 HealthLeaders Marketing Awards in Chicago.

Lacey has attended medical fellowships at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, University of California San Diego, Stanford School of Medicine, University of Washington, University of California San Francisco, and University of Wisconsin. Her professional associations include the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Association of Fundraising Professionals, International Association of Business Communicators, and the American Marketing Association.
