April 11, 2013 -- The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) released a Request for Grant Proposals (RFGP) today for community partners who want to provide outreach to hard-to-reach, non-English speaking, geographically isolated and underserved populations to help individuals and families enroll in health coverage.

Cover Oregon is partnering with OHA to fund grant opportunities for potential community partners such as community-based organizations, local governments and provider clinics. Community partners awarded funding will work within their local communities to help individuals and families understand their coverage options, including eligibility for public programs like Medicaid, and assist with the application and enrollment process.

OHA will also work with community partners who don’t receive grant funding directly from this initiative, including local governments and provider assisters that already provide application assistance.

Community partners interested in submitting a proposal can view the RFGP on the Oregon Procurement and Information Network website: http://orpin.oregon.gov/open.dll/welcome. The first RFGP will close on May 9.
