Community Health Alliance Names Dr. Christine Seals as Board Chair

Community Health Alliance recently appointed Christine Seals, M.D., as the new chair of its Board of Directors effective immediately. Community Health Alliance is a non-profit organization that was recently formed to manage the full array of mental health services for Douglas County.

“I am thrilled to be part of this dynamic organization,” said Dr. Seals. “Our integrated system will provide better access to quality mental health care for all Douglas County residents.”

As a new organization, Community Health Alliance has the opportunity to exceed the standards of previous services and work together with local providers to help make our community’s mental health delivery system even better. Community Health Alliance is committed to addressing barriers to access and improving coordination of care for patients.

“I’m excited to continue the progress we have made so far. We will be building on the success of the previous system and continuing to move Community Health Alliance in a positive direction for our community, our patients and our staff,” said Dr. Seals. “This momentum requires many people working in partnership to address mental health needs in our community and I look forward to being part of this effort in conjunction with the Board of Directors.”

Other members of Community Health Alliance’s Board include Deb Boswell, RN, COO of Mercy Medical Center; Gregory Brigham Ph.D., CEO of Adapt; Kevin Campbell, CEO of GOBHI; Brent Eichman, CFO of Architrave; Christi Parazoo, COO of UCHC; and Ruth Bauman, CEO of ATRIO Health Plans. These members bring many years of expertise and leadership in innovative health care to the Board. They have already demonstrated their commitment to our community through their integrity, strong leadership and delivery of effective health services.

Christine Seals, M.D. serves as the medical director for Umpqua Health Alliance, Douglas County’s coordinated care organization, as well as on the Mercy Foundation’s Board, and the Early Learning Hub Governance Council helping collaborate on projects and services with a multitude of community partners. Additionally, Dr. Seals maintains a robust private practice in family medicine and is board certified, having completed her family practice residency at San Bernardino County Medical Center in 1998. She received her medical degree from Loma Linda University in 1995, a school known for fostering a focus on whole person care.
