Columbia Pacific CCO offers a series of talks about brain health

TILLAMOOK, Ore. — Columbia Pacific Coordinated Care Organization is pleased to offer a series of five health talks for Tillamook County residents. The series, called “The Amazing Brain: Caring for Mind, Health and a Resilient Tillamook County,” will be facilitated by Sharon Black, R.N. All will take place at Tillamook Bay Community College.

The first talk “What aspects of human development make for resilient minds and lives?” will be held Wednesday, April 8. Registration opens at 5 p.m., and the talk will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Each discussion will feature local and regional brain health experts who will offer real life advice, tips and tactics on maintaining optimal brain health.

  • Wednesday, April 8, 5:30 to 7 p.m., “What aspects of human development make for resilient minds and lives?”
  • Wednesday, May 13, 5:30 to 7 p.m., “Our choice are often complex. How can we keep our brains healthy?”
  • Wednesday, June 10, 5:30 to 7 p. m., “Substance use, abuse and addiction: Solutions for today and tomorrow.”
  • Wednesday, July 8, 5:30 to 7 p.m., “Tobacco and its impact on Tillamook County: Best practice education and public policy needs, including e-cigarettes.”
  • Wednesday, Aug. 12, 5:30 to 7 p.m., topic to be determined.
