November 29, 2012
PORTLAND, Ore.  (November 29, 2012) – Children’s Developmental Health Institute (“Children’s”) has named Karen Ward as Executive Director. Children’s, formerly the Artz Center for Developmental Health & Audiology, specializes in providing team-based developmental care to help children reach their full potential.   Ms. Ward joins the organization after more than two years with Children’s Relief Nursery in Oregon, where she had the roles of Executive Director and Director of Finance and Administration. Prior to those positions, she worked for Deloitte LLP for 22 years, most recently as a Senior Audit Manager. During her time with Deloitte, Ms. Ward worked with many healthcare and nonprofit clients, including Kaiser, Regence, and low-income housing organizations.   “We are pleased to welcome Karen as Executive Director,” said David Boxberger, Chair of the Board for Children’s. “We believe her nonprofit and management experience coupled with her accounting and financial background will provide the leadership needed to expand Children’s mission of serving children in our community.”   In addition to Children’s, Ms. Ward will also manage the organization’s Hearing Institute operating unit, which provides high-quality audiology services to its adult clients. At the Hearing Institute, highly trained audiologists care for all aspects of hearing evaluation and life-long management.
