Central Oregon Independent Practice Association (COIPA) Hires Healthcare Industry Veteran Kim Bangerter, MBA As Executive Director

(BEND, Ore.)--After an extensive nationwide search, the Central Oregon Independent Practice Association (COIPA) has hired healthcare industry veteran Kim Bangerter, MBA, to serve as Executive Director for the organization. Mr. Bangerter is currently in the process of relocating his family to Central Oregon, and will assume his new role as executive director beginning Aug. 3.


Bangerter is a highly qualified executive with more than 15 years of healthcare administration experience. Prior to joining COIPA, Bangerter served as Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Care, a Utah-based provider of hospice care, home health care, and skilled nursing communities throughout the West.


“Kim’s healthcare experience, personal and professional values, and leadership qualities will all be tremendous assets to COIPA and to the physicians and clinics we represent throughout Central Oregon and the Columbia Gorge,” said Dr. Sid Henderson, president of the COIPA Board of Directors. “We had an outstanding pool of candidates for this position, and after thorough due diligence and careful consideration, Kim’s credentials and vision for COIPA rose to the top and ultimately made our decision simple.”
In his role as COIPA executive director, Bangerter will work in collaboration with and report directly to the organization’s 13 member, physician-led Board of Directors to direct the organization’s operations, growth, member services and advocacy, contract negotiations, and credentialing, and to promote the highest quality and most comprehensive patient care.


Bangerter received his Associates degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho, his B.S. in Management from Northern Kentucky University, and his MBA from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a licensed Health Facility Administrator with the State of Utah.


Outside of work Bangerter enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife CeCe and their six children, and coaching soccer, football, and basketball. He volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts of America and with his church, and enjoys the outdoors including hiking, boating, waterskiing, and biking.
