February 6, 2013

PORTLAND, Ore. –Oregon Health & Science University's Annual Multicultural Health, Science & Engineering Career Conference is coming up, offering high school and college students from diverse backgrounds informational sessions about OHSU's degree programs and resources.

Designed to encourage diverse students to enter health and science professions, the interactive conference will provide insights into medicine, nursing, dentistry and allied health careers such as nutrition and dietetics, biomedical informatics and pharmacy professions. Students from diverse, underrepresented backgrounds, as well as those from socially and economically disadvantaged families are strongly encouraged to attend.

The conference will feature a panel of OHSU medical students who will share their clinical experiences with attendees. Students will also be given the opportunity to take campus tours and visit OHSU's simulation labs where specialized teaching mannequins are used to teach future generations of health care providers.
