In the ever-changing healthcare environment, 2018 will lend itself to an increasing awareness of a growing movement towards alternative health plans and ways to pay for health care. The trend is in preventative care and planning.
Although some alternatives have been around for a while, and others developed from concerns about the Affordable Care Act, they are very relevant today. These alternatives are more affordable, and after meeting the qualifiers of the Affordable Care Act health plan, you don’t pay a penalty. These alternative health plans are ACA exempt and they are not for everybody – sorry, no pre-existing conditions here.
So truly - cheers to Americans for being creative and working to come up a solution to our health care problems. Still, the most critical problem to conquer is how to lower health care plan costs for those with pre-existing conditions. Or, how about taking some of the money corporations will save with this new massive tax break and place it in an insurance pool? And, corporations like Apple, moving back their billions to areas like Detroit, Michigan, or Appalachia, Kentucky. ‘Apple-lachia’ could mean tax breaks, jobs, and quality healthcare. Happy New Year!
