Portland—January 13, 2016—The Oregon Medical Association (OMA) named Bryan Boehringer the new Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Boehringer has been the interim CEO since April 2015, and previously served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Health Policy where he led the organization’s advocacy efforts and worked with the CEO in managing the association’s day-to-day activities.
“We are pleased that Bryan will continue to represent the interests of physicians and physician assistants in Oregon in this leadership role. In this next chapter for the organization, we look forward to strengthened partnerships and membership growth in the years to come,” said OMA President Nancy Hutnak, DO.
Boehringer was selected after a six-month national search. “We are lucky to have Bryan in this role. Even before he took on the interim CEO position, he had strong relationships at the local, state and federal level and in the business community. He is a proven ally to the medical profession and represents the best interests of OMA members. This commitment and his deep understanding of the complexities and challenges facing OMA members made him an excellent choice for CEO,” said John Moorhead, MD, chair of the search committee.
Before joining the OMA, Boehringer served as the Director of Government and Community Relations at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He also served as committee staff for the Oregon Legislature and worked in the Washington, DC office of US Senator Mark O. Hatfield.
