Central City Concern has added two insiders to its executive team.
Dr. Andy Mendenhall has been promoted to the position of chief medical officer, replacing Dr. Rachel Solotaroff, who is now the nonprofit’s president and CEO.
Mendenhall has been working at Central City Concern since 2017 as its senior medical director for substance use disorder services. In his new role, Mendenhall will oversee the agency’s medical and clinical services. He is board certified in addiction medicine and family medicine. Mendenhall graduated from the University of Portland and earned his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, where he trained as a family physician. Previously, he worked at Providence Health & Services, CleanSlate Center and co-founded an outpatient integrated treatment program called HealthWorks NW.
The other new executive team member is Freda Ceaser, who has moved into a newly created role: Central City Concerns new chief equity officer. In this position, she will focus on promoting diversity, anti-racism and equity.
Ceaser, who joined Central City Concern in 2004, will build on her former role as director of equity and inclusion.
