Avamere Family of Companies Invests $1M in Advance Therapy Equipment

October 15, 2013

October 15, 2013 – The Avamere Family of Companies purchased nearly $1M in advance rehabilitation technology for use in its skilled nursing and transitional care centers by Infinity Rehab – the Company’s post-acute therapy division. In addition to the significant monetary investment, approximately 750 hours of clinician training across all disciplines in the therapy department will take place during the coming months. Both initiatives will help patients recovering from illness or injury regain independence faster and return to their homes.

“Our goal is to always deliver quality patient outcomes through intensive and responsive clinical programs,” says Mike Billings, PT, MS, CEEAA, Infinity Rehab’s President. “This substantial investment from Avamere is right in line with our mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.”

The advance rehabilitation technology includes shortwave diathermy and electrotherapy implements, motorized parallel bars, LiteGait™ body-weight supported treadmill training, Shuttle Balance™ systems, training stairs, and an array of other devices and tools designed to promote quality therapy results. Full installation of the newly purchased equipment will be completed in select Avamere buildings throughout Oregon and Washington by mid-October.

“With these capital improvements, Infinity Rehab is certainly continuing its long-held position as an industry leader in post-acute rehab services,” says Gary Wart, Avamere’s President. “Short stays in transitional care centers are increasingly looked at as the most cost effective form of treatment. What we’re doing is providing an enhanced positive experience for those under our care while reducing the cost to Medicare and other payors through faster results.”
