Anonymous $15,000 Match Offered Fifth Annual Walk Around the Clock Fundraiser

February 5, 2018

February 2, 2018 -- An anonymous donor has agreed to match all gifts up to $15,000 for the fifth annual Walk Around the Clock fundraiser to celebrate American Heart Month at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center.

The 24-hour event -- from noon on February 7 to noon on February 8 -- will benefit Legacy's Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Patients, staff and other supporters will walk nonstop on two treadmills in the hospital lobby to raise money and awareness about the benefits of physical activity in the prevention and recovery from heart disease, the number one killer of men and women in the United States.

For a one-dollar-per-minute contribution, walkers can sign up for shifts of 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Supporters of the cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program can also buy raffle tickets for a wide range of prizes -- from tickets to a Blazers game to a gift certificate for a chiropractor. Cash gifts will also be accepted.
