
Brian Bull has been a journalist for half his life, primarily at public radio stations and NPR, where he’s covered issues pertinent to the environment, health care, cultural relations, economic development, and breaking news coverage. He’s done extensive reporting on the Holiday Farm Fire of 2020 and its aftermath, as well as efforts by regional tribes to restore their traditions and care for their communities. Currently Bull is the senior reporter for Buffalo’s Fire, a Native American news outlet, as well as a contributing reporter for KLCC in Eugene, Oregon and a substitute host for National Native News. Among his accolades are 24 Edward R. Murrow awards from the RTDNA, the Ohio AP’s Best Reporter award in 2012, and numerous 1st and 2nd place awards from the Indigenous Journalists Association. He’s also been a mentor to up-and-coming journalists through the NextGen Project, and also taught journalism at the University of Oregon from 2023-2025. He’s been married to his life partner and best friend Margaret for 31 years, and has three children and five cats in a nice rustic home in Eugene.
