The Oregon Office of Rural Health at Oregon Health & Science University has awarded the 2013 Oregon Rural Health Hero Award to Verna Pettyjohn of Burns, Ore. The award honors an outstanding person, program or organization that has improved the quality and availability of health care in rural communities.
October 7, 2013 – The results are in from the Oregon Values & Beliefs Project, which gathered input from more than 9,000 Oregonians on topics such as education, healthcare, the environment and public transportation.
The original version of this news release distributed Sept. 20, 2013, included an incorrect figure in the second bullet point for the number of "commercialization” agreements OHSU signed in fiscal year 2013. There were 81 commercialization agreements, as the first paragraph states.
