Oregon Health & Science University and Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare are hosting an open house to celebrate the opening of a new clinic that will expand healthcare access in Southeast Portland. The new OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond Walk-In Clinic is scheduled to open on Monday, June 24, 2013. The clinic will reside within a newly remodeled space in Cascadia Plaza, a longtime home of Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare Urgent Walk-In Clinic – which is the only of its kind in Multnomah County.

During the public open house, neighbors will get a chance to tour the new walk-in clinic and meet staff from both OHSU and Cascadia.

The clinic will offer care for Southeast Portland residents when non-emergency health needs arise without warning. In addition, the partnership with Cascadia will greatly aid in the many cases where family medicine and mental health intersect. It is also well aligned with health reform efforts to improve access and quality of integrated health and behavioral health care for patients.

All services are open and available for all, insured or uninsured. This collaborative venture is intended to increase access to care and to promote care for the whole person, both physical and mental/behavioral care.

Most of the same services currently available at OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond, just three blocks to the west, will be available at the new walk-in clinic. Once open, hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

The addition of the new walk-in clinic was made possible primarily through funding by OHSU and the Bureau of Primary Health Care, which is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration. Cascadia also contributed to remodeling costs.
