Brown decided to more than double the state's National Guard deployment following an update from the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Military Department.
In Eastern Oregon, only the Blue Mountain Hospital District in Grant County has received help since Gov. Kate Brown ordered the deployment of 1,500 troops.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced the deployment of up to 1,500 National Guard members who will assist at 20 hospitals around the state.
This was the first assault by a patient on a National Guard member the hospital has recorded since 30 National Guard members began working on June 24 to help stem a staffing shortage.
The money is earmarked to pay for 30 members of the National Guard to serve meals and care for patients at its Salem campus this summer.
The board, which makes recommendations on patient safety and care, says it has questions about staffing levels and the role of the National Guard.
