Accounting & Inventory Manager

Position Description: 

Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, the Accounting & Inventory Manager provides supervision to the operations for accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, cash management, inventory management, budget preparation, general ledger accounting and preparation of the financial statements.

 

Essential Functions:  

1. Provide supervision and assistance in the areas of accounts payable, payroll, cash management, inventory management, fixed assets tracking and general ledger accounting.

2. Prepare and monitor operational and capital budgets.

3. Update employee compensation schedules and provide copy to directors.

4. Maintain payroll log and prepare timely employment taxes payment.

5. Prepare, post and review monthly closing entries to the general ledger.

6. Prepare monthly production report.

7. Reconcile accounts receivable account.

8. Prepare monthly-consolidated financial statements and satellite statements.

9. Oversee the preparation of monthly departmental actual to budget reports.

10. Prepare schedules for audits relating to the corporation, partnership, retirement program, workers’ compensation and unclaimed property.

11. Calculate quarterly bonus for Allied Healthcare Providers.

12. Review bank reconciliation for checking and reserve accounts.

13. Maintain cash management including preparation of daily cash worksheet and cash flow projection.

14. Prepare, balance and send payroll file to Charles Schwab on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.

 

Other Duties:  

1. Assist in retirement plan administration.

2. Backup for payroll processing.

3. Assist the Director of Accounting in daily assignments as requested.

4. Prepare analysis as requested by the Administrator or Director of Accounting.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

-Working knowledge of accounting principles and theory.

-Careful: Must be correct in calculation and review work for accuracy.

-Intelligent: Able to understand concepts, apply reasonableness and common sense.

-Organized: Maintain files and computer system in a logical manner with easy accessibility and retrieval.

-Team Player: Cooperate with Director of Accounting and subordinates and offer help as workflow dictates.

-Trustworthy: Must be completely honest, support policy and bring closure to tasks in a timely manner.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent job-related experience.

-No less than four (4) years of accounting experience, preferable in healthcare.

-Working knowledge of computerized databases, spreadsheets, word processing and accounting programs.

-Proficient in written and oral communications; able to spell correctly and display good writing skills.
