Salary: $88,474/annually

Position Summary
This position provides leadership to and management of all activities related to public relations, marketing, and communicating organizational programs and services to increase community awareness, build engagement, and attract and secure financial support. As such, this position ensures brand alignment in messaging, materials, and web presence, and acts to ensure public messaging and media response is in line with organizational mission and values. This role also plays a leadership role in analysis, planning, execution, control, and evaluation of fund development. This position reports to the Executive Director, is a member of the organization’s Executive Team, and works closely with the Board of Directors.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing and Public Relations
• Oversees the creation of all marketing and communications materials that support fund development activities and promote the visibility and impact of the organization’s programs and products;
• Develops and maintains an annual communications calendar, year-end giving campaign, annual report, and collateral for organization and individual programs;
• Collaborates with the Board, Executive and Leadership Teams, program staff, and partners to identify communication needs and promote program visibility and access;
• Ensures staff and Board brand alignment in all public messages, media, and development of marketing materials;
• First point of contact with regard to media requests and develops talking points for Executive Director and other team/Board members as needed;
• Proactively seeks opportunity to initiate and draft press releases and Op-Ed pieces on topics relating to Project Access NOW programs and services;
• Manages and oversees website and social media channels, collaborating with staff to generate content.

• Researches, analyzes, recommends, and develops fundraising opportunities and strategies; identifies and pursues key funding prospects, collaborations, and opportunities;
• Creates an annual grants calendar/plan, coordinates with and supports directors in developing and completing grant applications; supports/advises program leadership to enhance linkage of programs to funding;
• Works with the Director of Programs and program staff to assure the methods, collection, and reporting of program outcomes is satisfactory, and that this data is well incorporated into development proposals, grants, marketing, and the annual report.
• Leads and executes Project Access NOW’s fundraising gala/event, ensuring appropriate
sponsorship and maximizing attendance.

• Coordinates with the Director of Operations and Finance to create, manage, and administer the
annual development budget; prepares periodic analyses and reports on fund development;
• Consults with the Executive Director and the Communications & Marketing committee of the
Board of Directors to develop and implement multi-year resource development and marketing
• Staffs and leads the Communications and Marketing Committee of the Board of Directors;
• Participates actively in the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors;
• Attends conferences and/or partner meetings to represent Project Access NOW;
• In collaboration with the Executive Team, helps lead diversity, equity, and inclusion planning and
• Attends board meetings/report to board as requested.

Qualifications & Transferable Skills
• Demonstrated track record of fund development leadership including successfully securing major
gifts and engaging major donors and foundations in the mission of the organization;
• Knowledge of marketing and communications techniques and strategies in the realms of social
media, graphic design/printing, traditional media, and content generation for organization collateral;
• Track record of effectively cultivating and maintaining strong and profitable relationships through a
community-centered fundraising approach;
• Demonstrated collaborative management and/or leadership that is consistent with an equity centered
• BS/BA degree and 5 or more years of non-profit leadership, management, or equivalent experience;
• Experience managing and collaborating with diverse teams, including development and continuous
learning for the team;
• Strong and clear communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
• High level of organizational skills;
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and proof of insurance required;

Working Conditions
