Position Description: 

The Project Access NOW Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for the overall financial health and basic operational support of the organization. This position works closely with the Executive Director to establish, execute, and evaluate strategic financial and operational goals of the organization to ensure the sustainability of our mission driven work. The Director of Finance and Operations interacts with the entire staff to ensure that they have the resources needed to carry out their job duties. They provide consultative financial services to Program Managers and assistance in problem solving various office issues as needed. This position also works closely with the board of directors around financial and operational strategy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities


Works with ED to develop financial and operational strategic objectives, policies, and procedures and responsible for oversight thereof

On-going review and presentation of monthly and annual financial reports, prepared in accordance with US GAAP

Oversight of annual audit and tax preparation

Direct supervision and evaluation of accounting and administrative staff, and information technology consultants

Works with ED and program managers to prepare FY budgets and other supporting financial tools for grant applications and contracts.

Senior staff member of the Finance Committee & attends Executive Committee and Board meetings in that capacity

Administrative Budget Oversight - support Program Managers in Program Budget Management

Member of Marketing/Development Committee

Member of Program Manager Team Meeting

Member of Executive Leadership Team

Facilities Management

Building safety, security, and maintenance

Vendor management

Office space and equipment utilization

Other Duties as Assigned

Frequent use of keyboard, monitor, mouse, telephone and/or headset

Temporarily working remotely and in the office

$82,000 - $92,000 DOE

Required Qualifications and Experience: 


Four or more years management and/or supervision experience required

Experience in the non-profit sector desired

Experience in non-profit accrual accounting desired

Must have strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Google Suite as well as able to work with online forms and systems

Required Education and / or Certifications: 

Higher education degree in business or accounting preferred OR 4 or more years of equivalent financial management experience.
