Job Description:
The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides primary care and other services to clients seen in a newly established community clinic in Pendleton, OR. These services will include completing patient assessments, performing or requesting diagnostic tests, completion of treatment plans, and prescribing medication to include ongoing drug reconciliations. The FNP/PA will also complete other duties within the scope of work of the implementation grant including patient and community education, pain management, and implementing evidence-based practices.
Position is flexible in FTE, looking for .5-1.0 FTE, but willing to discuss lower FTEs. Position also offers availability for telehealth on top of in-person services. We do have an office in La Grande, OR (50 miles away) and may need assistance with coverage at that location from time to time. Mileage would be reimbursed or telehealth options.
The Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for the Oregon-Washington Opioid Response Implementation Project coordinates numerous work activities described in the grant’s scope of work. These include providing primary health care services in the community clinic, completing physical examinations, support for other practitioners to provide medication assisted treatment, and coordination of the project CADC’s and other staff.
The major work duties of the FNP/PA for the Oregon Washington Rural Opioid Response Implementation Project are described below:
- Provide primary health care services to clients of the project’s community clinic;
- Complete treatment plans and referrals for clients seen in the crisis center;
- Educate patients on the risks of opioid addiction and provide pain management services;
- Complete appropriate diagnostic testing or refer patients for these procedures;
- Complete patient records and document prescribed treatments or recommendations;
- Prescribe medications for patients to include drug reconciliations on a recurring basis;
- Participate in community activities and provide medication assisted treatment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the State of Oregon or
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Oregon
- A minimum of two years of experience as clinical family nurse practitioner (negotiable)
- Ability to provide crisis counseling to clients and families affected by opioids

Salary: From $130,000.00 per year (this is a base and can be negotiated)
