Are you interested in working in a non-traditional treatment setting?  We have the job for you.  This position will be an integral part of our Jail and Forensics Team with the Benton County Health Department.  This position will require the successful candidate to work in settings that include jails, court, community, and other non-clinic based services and will work closely with Qualified Mental Health Professionals, Law Enforcement, Attorneys, Judges and others in the judicial system to serve individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.


Position Summary:
This position will include providing therapy and case management services, skills training, and coordination of care for individuals in Benton County who are also engaged in the legal system: primarily responsible for the aid and assist population.  This may include assisting with monitoring medication compliance, coordination of care with other treatment providers, attendance of ongoing court sessions including testifying, completing mental health assessments and service plans for individuals being served.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

Special Requirements:

Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.

Valid Oregon driver's license. This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.

Benton County requires all Health Services and Clinic employees to complete their COVID-19 vaccination series or have an approved exception to the requirement due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief. Successful candidates for this position must submit vaccination documentation or be approved for an exception prior to their first day of employment. Failure to provide proof of full documentation or receipt of an approved exception will lead to withdrawal of the job offer.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working as part of a forensics team including Oregon State Hospital systems.

PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent licensure

CADC obtained 

Required Education and / or Certifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:  

QMHP - Health Care Professional 2 level:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field; AND

One year of health experience providing mental health outpatient services; AND

Must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 

QMHP - Health Care Professional 3 level:

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field; AND

Two years of health experience providing mental health outpatient services; AND

Must be registered as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of hire; AND

PsyD, LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent licensure.

 An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
