Tuality Healthcare Scores an ‘A’ in the Spring 2018 LeapFrog Hospital Safety Grade

April 25, 2018

HILLSBORO, Oregon — For the fifth scoring cycle in a row, Tuality Healthcare received an A rating in the Spring 2018 LeapFrog Hospital Safety Grade released this week.

“All of us at Tuality are committed to providing the highest standards of safety for our patients, their families, and our employees,” said Lori James-Nielsen, President of Tuality Healthcare.  “We are honored to once again be recognized by the LeapFrog Group, and applaud our staff for their exemplary quality of care for those we serve.”

The LeapFrog Hospital Safety Grade scores hospitals on how safe they keep their patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections, and uses national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey and Health Information Technology Supplement.

Taken together, those performance measures produce a single letter grade representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.  The Safety Grade includes 30 measures, all currently in use by national measurement and reporting programs.
