Legislative Breakfast Forum Rescheduled to January 25

Oregon Health Forum brings together legislators from both sides of the aisle and Governor Brown’s health policy advisor to discuss health policy bills likely to surface during the 2017 session.
November 22, 2016

Because of the inclement weather expected in Portland this week, Oregon Health Forum has rescheduled its legislative breakfast forum to Wednesday, January 25. If you've already purchased a ticket, there's no need to rebook because you're already on our registration list.

We're bringing together legislators from both sides of the aisle, along with the governor's health policy aide, and are very close to capacity so if you haven't already registered, it's best not to wait.

With the defeat of the corporate tax measure, lawmakers will face more pressure to fun d healthcare services with the Oregon Health Authority anticipating a $1 billion shortfall next biennium. Oregon Health Forum is bringing together legislators to discuss this pivotal issue and also share the health policy bills their planning to introduce next session.

On Jan. 25, we're serving breakfast at 6:30 a.m. with legislators taking the stage at 7:20.

Among the health policy bills likely to emerge next session are changes to stabilize the individual insurance marketplace, reform of the coordinated care organizations and efforts to slow the costs of pharmaceutical drugs. As always, we encourage you to ask questions of our panelists at this event. The legislators you’ll hear from include:

  • Rep. Knute Buehler, R-Bend
  • Rep. Mitch Greenlick, D-Portland
  • Rep. Cedric Hayden, R-Roseburg
  • Rep. Alissa Keny-Guyer, D-Portland
  • Rep. Mike McLane, R-Powell Butte
  • Sen. Elizabeth Steiner Hayward, D-Portland
  • Jeremy Vandehey, Governor Kate Brown’s health policy advisor, will also join the panel.

Kristian Foden-Vencil, who reports on healthcare issues for Oregon Public Broadcasting, will moderate this event.
