Details: Oregon State Hospital invites the public to come and explore the recently completed campus in Junction City during an open house Thursday, January 29.

The public will be able to take self-guided tours from 1 to 6:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to see inside the hospital before patients move in this spring. Those attending the tour will view patient bedrooms, the treatment mall, activity rooms, dining halls and more.

Hospital staff will be stationed throughout the new building to answer questions, provide information about the types of treatment, and explain how people recovery from mental illness.

The Junction City campus is opening in phases, with patients moving into the first three living units on March 11. When fully operational, the campus will be able to serve up to 174 people with six, 25-bed living units and three, eight-bed cottages.

The Junction City campus will primarily serve people from the southern Oregon counties – Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, and Lane. It will treat people who have been civilly committed or who have pleaded guilty except for insanity. When people are well enough, they will return to life in the community.

Please note: To ensure safety, the hospital asks visitors to not bring bags or purses on the tour.
